More about Artic Poppies:
A poppy is a flowering plant in the subfamily Papaveroideae of the family Papaveraceae. Poppies are herbaceous plants, often grown for their colourful flowers. There are eight types. This image is known as the Iceland variety and these are not easy to grow like the Oriental poppy. A case in point is the Iceland poppy, also known as the Arctic poppy. This is a short-lived perennial, but it performs as an annual only in northern climes. Elsewhere, it's usually grown as an annual, but it may not grow at all in any region with warm, humid summers. Iceland poppy cultivars are available with bright yellow, white, salmon, rose, and pink flowers.
They produce feathery foliage and hairy or fuzzy flower stems. Their tall stems are leafless and sport brightly colored flowers, each plant with four thin, silky petals. The plants bloom from late spring into early summer and attract birds, bees, and butterflies.
