Description
The chameleon tulip is aptly named for the color of the petals change dramatically as the flowers develop. Young flowers feature pale yellow petals with a broad white edge that evolve to yellow flowers with raspberry-pink edges, while at maturity, the flowers are deep salmon orange with a golden-yellow base. This cultivar produces multiple flowers per stem and blooms in sequence with the Tall Late class of tulips.
This image was captured with a Nikon camera and lens in late spring at the Dallas Arboretum, Dallas, Texas.
Tulips were a tray of jewels.”
