Description
Nopal is a common name in Spanish for Opuntia cacti, as well as for its pads. There are approximately one hundred and fourteen known species endemic to Mexico, where the plant is a common ingredient in numerous Mexican cuisine dishes.
I captured this image in Tyler, Texas with a Nikon camera and lens in it's natural setting. The tender lime green cacti is a dinner delicacy in Hispanic homes. It is a healthy food for those seeking new experiences in taste. An excellent lunch choice.
