Description
Damianita Daisies captured with a Nikon camera on the i10 road side in Tucson, Arizona and painted with a topaz treatment.
Indigenous to Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, the Damianita Daisy tolerates considerable drought, most soil types, and extreme temperatures, this tough, evergreen shrub fits easily into a variety of garden situations. It does well on slopes and mixes nicely with water-wise plants such as Aloes, Yuccas, and even some cacti, but is also at home in flower beds and perennial borders where its compact form doesn’t intrude on neighboring shrubs.
Damianita Daisy is best loved for its spring transformation into a rounded mass of radiant yellow flowers that continue through early fall for a lengthy season of butterfly activity. Also noteworthy is the sweetly fragrant foliage; a pleasant aroma that encourages gardeners to locate this plant near patios or seating areas where it can be appreciated and enjoyed
